SXSW, one of the world’s biggest music, film and interactive festivals, is just around the corner and we’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Sonicbids, the leading online platform that connects bands with music lovers, music promoters and major brands to help them engage new fans and book shows, on a new music-themed promotion!

We’ve released a new music-inspired theme called “Rock On” and invited eleven Sonicbids bands to have their music included in the “Rock On” library and battle it out for the opportunity to play at the Sonicbids Official SXSW Party at Maggie Mae’s in Austin on March 14, 2014, plus $1500!

The band that has the most views across Movies using their song by the end of the contest will be declared the winner. It’s your job to decide who wins and, in doing so you’ll also have the opportunity to win great prizes including Amazon gift cards and free Magisto upgrades!

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Create a music-inspired Movie using the new “Rock On” theme
  2. Select your favorite track from the 11 bands represented
  3. Include the hashtag #SXSWsonic in the title
  4. Share your Movie to get as many views as possible!

All #SXSWsonic Movies will be automatically added to our Sonicbids at SXSW “Battle of the Fans” Contest album! In addition to a winning band, we’ll be selecting a number of winning fans from the 150 most-viewed #SXSWsonic Movies! Creators of the top 50 most-viewed Movies will win free 1-year Magisto upgrades and three lucky grand prize winners will take home the following:

  • Grand Prize: $500 Amazon Gift Card
  • 2nd Prize: $300 Amazon Gift Card
  • 3rd Prize: $200 Amazon Gift Card

Winners will be determined based on the representative nature of the “Rock On” Editing Style (50%), creativity (25%), and the quality of the image submitted (25%). Click here for the official rules.
