Earlier this month we celebrated our 20 million users milestone by inviting you to create a Movie with 20 photos for the chance to win prizes as part of our “20 for 20 Movie Contest”. Over the course of the 20-day contest, 120 of you won prizes including free Magisto upgrades and iTunes and Google Play gift cards. Today, we’re excited to announce our three grand prize winners!
We received a ton of awesome submissions and it was hard to narrow it down to just three winners, but we really loved the way that each of these winners captured a slice of life in their Movies. Congratulations to Lance, Katerina and Pierpaulo! Check out their Movies below.
“POW! WOW! Hawaii 2014” by Lance
Our first place winner, Lance, takes home an iPad Air for his great Movie, POW! WOW! Hawaii 2014 #20for20. Lance tells us, “POW! WOW! Hawaii is an annual celebration of street art where graffiti artists from around the world gather in the streets of Kaka‘ako, Hawaii to paint face-melting murals. The event gives the public the opportunity to meet and support immensely talented artists. It’s grown in popularity every year and I’m just thankful to work nearby where I can visit and document the goings-on during my breaks and after work. It’s especially important because every year, walls get painted over with new art. My #20for20 for was a pleasure to shoot and I give a big “mahalo” to Magisto, my robot media DJ, for stitching my shots into an awesome compilation!”
“Summer in Greece” by Katerina
Katerina takes home an iPod Touch for her Movie, #20for20 Summer in Greece. She tells us that her Movie represents the way she has spent every summer in Greece, where she is from, since she was a child.
“Milanese Carnival” by Pierpaolo
Pierpaolo also takes home an iPod Touch for his Movie, Milanese Carnival #20for20. He tells us, “The carnival in Milan is the most crazy and colourful holiday of the year. It’s easy to join, the only rule is to transform yourself in something different and enjoy! Through Duomo square, it’s possible to see thousands of people from every country with confetti in the hands, ready to launch them in the air, turning the square in myriad of colours. Me and my friends had so much fun watching the carnival parade in the lovely outlook of the cathedral of Milan. Thank you, Magisto for transforming my photos in a movie that make me happy every time that I watch it. Ciao!”
