We’re excited to share that we’ve been covered in USA TODAY by columnist Mark Veverka. In his article, ‘Magisto takes random videos and makes memories’, Veverka delves into the world of social video, saying, “Video may have killed the radio star, but now it’s bringing life to social media.”
Veverka touches on the different uses for video in the social ecosystem – there’s the quick, spur-of-the-moment clips that are shared and forgotten about, and then there’s the online video that is designed to share experiences and memories that last. He writes,
“Magisto is not just another app. It isn’t Instagram, nor is it the personal video equivalent of Vine. Instagram and Vine are tools for creating and sharing social messages on personal devices. Magisto, on the other hand, is a cloud-based platform designed for making home movies. Vine and Instagram videos are disposable by design, which is their beauty, while “Magistos” are memories, [CEO Oren] Boiman argues.”
