eventsVideo can be a great way to capture and remember an event – whether it’s a personal event like a birthday party or wedding or a professional event like an industry conferenceĀ orĀ convention. We thought, for this week’s edition of Tuesday Tips, we’d throw you a few tips for capturing the ultimate event video using Magisto!

Whether you’re capturing a personal or professional event, the basic principles for creating a great event recap video are the same, and it all starts with making sure to take a lot of photos and videos.

Capturing photos and videos

The more photos and videos you’ve got, the better you’ll be able to capture the true essence of the event. Make sure to get photos and/or videos of the following:

  • As many of the people who were at the event as possible – We know this can be difficult at large industry events with hundreds or thousands of people, but for recaps of smaller events it’s important, as people always love seeing themselves in videos!
  • All of the different areas or smaller events that happened at the event – For instance, at a birthday party if you ate cake, played Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey, opened presents and danced the night away, try to get photos and videos of all of that stuff so you can relive it in its entirety through your movie.

Selecting an editing style and music

When creating your movie in Magisto, remember that our editing styles are created with emotion in mind, so make sure to select a style that fits with the event sentiment. For instance, for a wedding a good option is our premium Wedding Bliss editing style or the Love style. For a birthday party, try our premium Happy Birthday editing style or Let’s Party.

Each of our editing style also has a music selection we think fits nicely with the sentiment or emotional resonance of the style, so give our songs a listen and select something that feels like a good fit for your particular event. If you don’t find a song you like in our library, remember that you can always upload your own music.
